The Associated Builders and Contractors recently awarded ҹɫÊÓƵ and Starcon with National Safety Pinnacle Awards at the 31st annual Excellence in Construction Awards during the ABC Convention 2021 in Grapevine, Texas.

In April of 2020, Puritan Medical Products, one of two major manufacturers of COVID-19 testing swabs, reached out to ҹɫÊÓƵ in desperate need of expanding from their Guilford, Maine facility, to meet the ever-growing demand for testing swabs. ҹɫÊÓƵ and subsidiary A/Z Corporation answered the call, developing a proposal to retrofit a property on a vacant manufacturing site at 129 Main St. in Pittsfield, Maine, to meet their needs on a tight timeline. On March 10, 2021, Associated Builders and Contractors announced that ҹɫÊÓƵ would receive a National Excellence in Construction Award for this project, honoring the nation's most innovative and high-quality construction projects and safety programs.

Although 2020 presented several challenges for ҹɫÊÓƵ, our team members pivoted throughout the pandemic, creating innovative solutions to stay safe and deliver excellent outcomes for our clients. Their hard work and dedication have recently been recognized by The Associated Builders and Contractors (ABC), who have named both ҹɫÊÓƵ and Starcon International among the top 200 performers in the country.

In 2020, ҹɫÊÓƵ completed its first-ever 138kV BOLD® (Breakthrough Overhead Line Design) double circuit transmission line for American Electric Power (AEP). On the first day of the Sorenson-Deer Creek 138 kV BOLD® Transmission Line Rebuild Project, the team agreed that the path to a safe and successful outcome was through collaboration and effective communication, and it paid off. In September, Engineering News-Record (ENR) Midwest awarded ҹɫÊÓƵ with the Best Project in the Specialty Construction category for this project.
